While we love coming up with new project ideas, several projects are things we do every single year!
First Day of School Post-it Notes: Over the summer, a group of Colchester is Kind volunteers make thousands of post-it notes with positive sayings. Then, we decorate all of the lockers at CES, JJIS, and WJJMS for the first day of school! Eight years and counting.
Dinner for Colchester First Responders: Each November, volunteers offer to cook and bake delicious items for a dinner we prepare at the Colchester fire house as a way to express our gratitude for all they do for our town throughout the year.
Colchester Card Senders: We have a list of over 200 Colchester residents who send cards in the mail to residents that need a little cheer. We send out cards on a request-basis all year long.
Colchester Town Green Rock Garden: From June – November our group maintains a kindness-themed rock garden on the town green (the side towards Noels). You are always welcome to add some painted rocks of your own!
Bake it Forward: This is a new project launched in September of 2026. Residents who enjoy baking team up and bake treats as a way to support various groups, such as our teachers, nursing home staff, first responders, and even individuals in the community.
